Yemen minister 'survives assassination attempt'

Breaking news
Yemen's information minister has escaped an assassination attempt in the capital, Sanaa, witnesses say.
An aide to Ali al-Amrani told the Reuters news agency that unidentified gunmen opened fire on his car after the weekly cabinet meeting and then fled.
The minister was not hurt in the attack, Abdul Basset al-Qaedi added.
Mr Amrani is a member of the unity government appointed after President Ali Abdullah Saleh agreed to step down in the wake of widespread protests.
Mr Saleh is currently receiving treatment in the United States for the serious injuries he sustained when a bomb exploded inside the presidential palace compound in June.
The opposition television channel Suhayl said Tuesday's attack took place in front of the cabinet headquarters in the capital.
