North Korea is from Kim Jong-un as a leader

Thousands of North Koreans took part in Memorial choreography Thursday

North Korea welcomed his son late leader Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-un, as "supreme leader of the party, state and army."

Kim took the stage at a memorial service on the main square of Pyongyang a day after the funeral of his father.

Kim Yong-nam, officially number two leader, before a crowd of millions of their strong sorrow would be turned into strength "1000 times larger under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong-un."

State television showed Kim Jong-surrounded by a top government and military officials.

The memorial appears to be officers of the Kim dynasty transfer of power, says the BBC's Lucy Williamson in neighboring South Korea.

A three-minute silence was also held, at which trains and ships across the country sounded their horns.

Kim Jong-il died of a heart attack on December 17, aged 69, state media said. He had ruled North Korea since the death of his father Kim Il-sung in 1994.
"Military First"

"Respected Comrade Kim Jong-un is our party, the army and the country's supreme leader who inherits great comrade Kim Jong-il ideology, leadership, character, virtues, grit and courage," Kim Yong Nam told the massive crowd gathered in Kim Il-sung square.

"The fact that it has completely solved the issue of succession is great comrade achieve the most noble of Kim Jong-il."

A senior military official, Kim Jong-GAK, also addressed the crowd.

"Military will serve our people Comrade Kim Jong-one at the head of our revolutionary troops and continue to maintain and build on the achievements of the great Songun leadership of Kim Jong-il," he said.

Songun refers to the "military-first" policy - the flow of funds into the army.

On Wednesday, thousands are weeping and wailing in the snow as a funeral procession passed Kim Jong-il, pictures of state television showed.

Correspondents say the ceremonies echoed the events of pageantry and military power that marked the death of Kim Il-sung in 1994.

Kim Jong-un - the third son of Mr. Kim - cried as he walked along the hearse. Tens of thousands of soldiers lined up to bow their heads in tribute on the main square of the city.

Kim Jong-un - is thought to be in his late 20s and has little political experience - was accompanied by his uncle, Chang Song-taek.

Mr. Chang is intended to be a key player as the young Kim empowers.

Kim Jong Il - North Korea known as the "Dear Leader" - was in the process of formalizing Kim Jong-un as his successor when he died.

However, the transition was not complete, leaving the regional neighbors fear a power struggle in the state of pariah nuclear weapons.

Kim two eldest son, Kim Jong Nam and Kim Jong-chol, have not been seen at the funeral.

No foreign delegations have participated in any events. However, the UN offices around the world have lowered their flags at half mast.

A spokesman at UN headquarters in New York said the move had been requested by the UN mission in Pyongyang, but was part of the normal protocol for the funeral of any head of state.
